How the Characters in Much Ado About Nothing Learn to Love Essay
How the Characters in Much Ado About Nothing Learn to Loveà à à à à à à à à The title of Shakespeareââ¬â¢s Much Ado About Nothing has sparked scholarly debates about its meaning for centuries.à Some say it is a play on the term ââ¬Å"notingâ⬠, revolving around the theme of all sorts of deceptions by all sorts of appearances (Rossiter 163).à Others claim it has more to do with everyone making a fuss about things that turn out to be false, therefore, nothing (Vaughn 102).à Regardless of these speculations, there is something rather profound going on in the play that is worth making a big deal about: four characters in the play learn about love, and eventually, how to love. à à à à à à à à à à à The four characters that learn the art of love are Beatrice, Benedick, Claudio and Hero.à From the first viewing/reading of the play, Claudio and Hero seem to be the main focus.à However, looking deeper into the entire play, and/or if you read any scholarship on Much Ado About Nothing, the true fascinating plotline involves Beatrice and Benedick. The main difference between these two couples involves how they learn the art of love.à At the beginning of the play, Claudio is the first one out of all the lovers to express his affections for someone else; however, he seems to have the weakest grasp on the concept of love compared to everyone else.à Claudio hints of his growing feelings for Hero when he asks Benedick what he thinks of her (I.i.161).à Benedick, who has a disdain for marriage, is not very helpful to Claudio.à However, he does manage to draw out of Claudio the reason for his inquiry: ââ¬Å"In mine eye, she is the sweetest lady that ever I lookââ¬â¢d onâ⬠(I.i.188). This first glimpse into Claudioââ¬â¢s heart reveals mostly shallowness.à His first words... ...ial Identity and Masculinity in Much Ado About Nothingâ⬠Upstart Crow 16, (1996): 31-47. à Much Ado About Nothing.à Directed by Kenneth Branagh.à Samuel Goldwyn Company and Renaissance Films, 1993. à Much Ado About Nothing.à The Riverside Shakespeare, 2nd ed.à Boston: Houghton Mifflin Co., 1997.à 366-398. à Prouty, Charles A.à The Sources of Much Ado About Nothing. Essay --
Ernst & Young was the auditing firm of HealthSouth from 1984 to 2002. Due to financial hardship Healthshore grew desperate and developed a scheme to deceive not only shareholders but Ernst and Young. Inevitably whistleblowers came forth and a lawsuit ensued. The shareholderââ¬â¢s lawsuit against Ernst and Young never went to trial. However, the lawsuit against Healthshore ended in settlement. Though a travesty to the shareholders and employees not involved with the fraud, this fraudulent activity was necessary for it forced the SEC to hinder these types of events to occur in the future. There may still be cases similar to HealthShore going on today had it not been for the Sarbanes Oxley act enforcing stricter requirements for auditing firms. 1.) Ordinary negligence is defined as the absence of reasonable care that can be expected of a person in a set of circumstances. For an auditor, it is what another component auditor would have done given the same scenario. Gross negligence is a step further than ordinary negligence and is that is absence of even slight care that can be expected of an independent, competent auditor. Some states do not distinguish the difference between both of these term but the main difference is ordinary negligence is an accidently mistake and the gross negligence is a mistake caused by a reckless act or decision. Constructive negligence is a more extreme negligence than gross negligence. This negligence is unusual but was committed without intend to deceive or harm. Negligence of this magnitude occurs when an inadequate audit was done but an opinion was issued anyway. For instance, if HealthSouth employees kept a factious account that was above the auditorââ¬â¢s materiality threshold but did not test this account... ...ds being committed so they were not a prudent person in performing due diligence in their audit. 3c. The auditors did their due diligence in that they questioned internal controls and found them to be acceptable if it were not for the deliberate collusion among management they would have been able to detect the fraud and therefor i would not be able to find them negligent in there assertion of the effectiveness of internal controls. 4. A disclaimer of opinion should be issued if the scope of the audit is limited because of management hindrance uness the evaluation during preplanning established that the section of the business being hindered was immaterial in respect to the overall fair presentation of the financial statements in that case if the audit was performed in accordance ewith GAAS the auaidotr should not be considered negligent if a fraud had occurred.

Dr. Phil and Maury
In 2008 over 30 million people in the United States admitted to watching day time TV talk shows, and that number is progressively climbing. These talk shows range from cooking secrets, to bizarre life situations, to more serious national news stories such as interviews with the parents of Treyvon Martin. Two of these TV talk shows include: the serious psychologist, Dr. Phil McGraw and the syndicated tabloid talk show host, Maury Povich. Although, Dr. Phil and Maury are both national TV talk shows, they differ in content, targeted audience, and national news. The most noticeable difference between Maury and Dr. Phil is the content of each talk show. Maury is a bizarre, outrageous talk show that includes topics such as; paternity test, lie detector test, shocking sex secrets, controlling and abusive men, out of control teenage girls, transsexuals, and transformations. The most famous topic is paternity testing; for instance, a mother appears on air in an attempt to prove or disprove tha t a man is the biological father of her child or children. Usually the man is certain that the child is not his, acts with hostility, and accuses the mother of being a lair.On the other hand, Dr. Phil covers a wide variety of topics, including weight loss, financial planning, errant children, mental health issues, drug abuse, depression, suicide, child abuse, domestic violence, personal and social issues; however, the list continues on and on. For example, Dr. Phil has taken on the task of interviewing the family of Treyvon Martin and the best friend of the accused killer. Since there is a huge content difference, naturally there is also a difference in the viewing audience. Right now, Maury has the youngest audience of any talk show out there. His targeted audience is between the ages of 18 and 35; the younger audience is drawn to the real life comical drama the show brings. While not as popular and not in as many markets today as it once was, Maury maintains a solid audience base; thus, has led to its contract renewal through 2014. Dr. Phil is a clinical psychologist who would often appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show, so those who viewed Oprah also tune in to Dr. Phil. Dr. Phil often tops the TV talk show viewer ratings, and has been nominated for multiple Daytime Emmys because of his dynamic and hard hitting topics; therefore leading him to the #1 Day Time talk show in the ation. Dr. Philââ¬â¢s topics range from bullied children to war veterans suffering from PTSD; consequently his viewers are ageless. Another difference between the talk shows is the National News stories. While Maury in his early days focused on National News stories such as, interviewing one of the jurors of the OJ Simpson trail; he no longer tackles those issues and focuses on his amusing drama. Dr. Phil on the other hand, has created more than 1,500 hours of national television devoted to helping people create better lives and families.Because of his broad education, training and experi ence in the field of psychology, and his unique ability to effectively communicate in common sense language. Dr. Phil is repeatedly called upon for his expert opinion on current events by major national and international news outlets, including theà Todayà show,à Good Morning America,à The Early Showà andà Anderson Cooper 360. (Dr. Phil Biography) Some examples of Dr. Philââ¬â¢s tackled national news stories are: football star Terrell Owens, the mother of Lindsay Lohan, Olympic swimmer and model, Amanda Beard and many more. Many people from all walks of life enjoy Daytime TV Talk shows and itââ¬â¢s the differences that make them entertaining. Some may enjoy the serious, informative content of The Dr. Phil Show; while others find the wacky situations and outcomes of Maury humorous. Although, both shows deal with real life situations they are obviously not the same because of the content, target audience, and national news stories. Maury may have the younger viewing a udience focusing on laughter and the shock effect, but I would much rather broaden and enrich my mind with compelling stories from Dr. Phil. How about you?
Hookworm Dermatitis in Dogs
Hookworm dermatitis is also called ancylostomiasis or uncinariasis dermatitis. Lesions occur as a result of the skin penetration of the third stage larvae of Uncinaria stenocephala and Ancylostoma spp. The larvae are located in the soil that the animals contact. Lesions are more often associated with Uncinaria stenocephala infestation. Uncinaria stenocephala rarely completes its life cycle by skin penetration, however, Ancylostoma spp can.The larvae enter the skin primarily at areas of scaling skin but, occasionally they may enter via hair follicles. Signs of Hookworm Dermatitis The condition is more frequently noticed in hookworm infested dogs that are housed on dirt runs with poor sanitation. Lesions are primarily located on the feet but, they may be seen on any area of the skin that contacts the ground. Erythematous papules are present initially but, chronically affected skin often becomes red, thickened and alopecic. The skin on the footpads often becomes thickened. The interdigit al spaces may be red, and the feet may eventually become soft and spongy especially at the pad margins. The nails may grow faster, become deformed and in severe cases break off. Arthritis may be present. Itchiness is always present but it can vary in intensity. Animals are irritable and lick their feet. Diagnosis of Hookworm Dermatitis Pelodera dermatitis is considered a possible diagnosis when a dog kept outdoors on straw bedding has itchy, alopecic and crusting dermatitis on skin that is in contact with the ground.A positive fecal exam for hookworm eggs provides supporting evidence but does not confirm a diagnosis. Skin scraping is an easy, fast, inexpensive and reliable method for the diagnosis of Pelodera dermatitis. Treatment of Hookworm Dermatitis All affected and in-contact dogs should be given appropriate antihelminthic treatment and a prophylactic program should be started. Frequent removal of feces from the runs and kennels as well as improved sanitation should be performe d.Therapy consists of routine worming with thiabendazole, fenbendazole, or levamizole and improving sanitation. Oral antibiotics were used in cases with confirmed or suspected concurrent bacterial infection. Since decaying organic matter is a typical habitat of P. strongyloides, removal of straw bedding from the kennel is imperative to allow successful medical treatment. Discarding moist or dirty bedding and replacing it with clean, dry bedding is the first step taken in treating our Pelodera dermatitis cases.

Peer Review Of Diet Plan: Kill My Mother
`Diet Plan: Kill My Mother`; Maternal Responsibility in Enabling and Annihilating the Good Body is a skillfully written text that looks into the common perception of the position of women in the society in general. It should also be mention that the basic intention of this text is to enumerate the fundamental search of individuality of the modern women and thus it is written completely from the perception of the womanââ¬â¢s world. For the purpose of establishing the principal of individuality the writer incorporates examples from five major sources. These sources are Abra Fortune Chernikââ¬â¢s `The Body Politic, ` from Images and Realities: A Multicultural Anthology published in 2003 by McGraw Hill, Eve Enslerââ¬â¢s The Good Body published by Villard in 2004, Bell Hookââ¬â¢s `Talking Back` from Women Images and Realities: A Multicultural Anthology, Mai Kao Thaoââ¬â¢s `Sins of Silence also from Women Images and Realities: A Multicultural Anthology and Naomi Wolfââ¬â¢s `The Beauty Myth`.All these texts deal with different aspects of the womanââ¬â¢s position in the society. It is an attempt to show the momentum of social perception that shapes up the basic formulation of a womanââ¬â¢s mind and the subsequent intentions to overcome it. It should be mentioned that the writer is very much successful in depicting the position of the modern woman amidst a society dominated by men. However, it can always be mentioned that the writer could have been more aggressive in the construction of the text by directing more personal opinions than presenting quotations and presenting the basic themes of the texts used. However, it can always be mentioned that apart from this weakness the text looks very convincing and fruitful in emphasizing on the basic intention of the writer.
